About the Owner

Howard Hinds began his career in fitness while training for the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympics, swimming for the Netherlands Antilles. The demand for discipline, hard work, and determination in order to reach a specific goal sparked his interest in the fitness industry. As a two-time Olympian, he learned what is required to reach aggressive and formidable goals.

In training for the 2004 Athens Olympics, he fell short of qualifying for the team, which taught him about failure. He learned that hard work, dedication, and sacrifice don't always mean that his goal will be reached.

While training for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Howard received his bachelor's degree in Movement Studies from Springfield College. In 2007, he earned his master's degree in Physical Education at Adelphi University. Howard then became nationally certified for personal training and began training in a leading corporate health club in New York City.

Howard excelled as one of the leading trainers on his team, specializing in weight loss and athletic performance. He designed programs to fit his clients' goals.

He also provided them with basic nutritional suggestions that helped them reach their goals faster. His annual sales revenue averaged more than $100,000 in personal training.

Due to his success and client retention rate, Howard decided to start his own Impact Training NYC in January of 2015. He now trains independently, mostly in downtown NYC (in corporate and in private settings), as well as in the Upper West Side, the Bronx, and Long Island.

Howard creates training programs utilizing multiple modalities to respond to his clients' fitness needs and goals. His programs are structured in private, one-on-one settings, and small group boot camps.

Howard's range of athletes includes people from all fitness backgrounds, from beginners to experienced athletes. He is committed to perfecting his skill and learning new modalities to stay at the forefront of his industry. Some of Howard's recent certifications include pre- and post-natal training, TRX™, Rip Trainer™, and StrongFirst™ Kettlebell.
